Horse Back Riding: a fun way to exercise

Often when we hear the word “exercise”, what comes to mind is a person working out at a gym, or practicing a competitive sport. However, many things that we do for fun are also a disguised form of exercise. Take for example horseback riding.

Recently, I went with a group of friends to Marshall Creek Ranch, near Grape Vine, TX. We went there with the idea of having some fun and recreation. I never imagined that my muscles would be so sore after an hour and a half of horseback riding. Eating Healthy while Traveling

As a person who is trying to eat healthier and make better food choices, I was worried about my upcoming trip to Italy. The greatest concern was not being able to eat healthy while on the road. However, I found that with a little research, eating healthy is possible, although not easy to find. Eating organic food is important to me because that means there are no chemicals, GMO’s and /or growth hormones in the food.

In a recent visit to San Gimignano, I visited Fattoria Poggio Alloro, an organic farm in a beautiful setting surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and fields. The farm produces wine, oil, and cereals. My dinner consisted of homemade pasta, olive oil, four different types of wine, a variety of cheeses, and cured meats. When I tasted the food, I could immediately notice a difference. This was not your regular supermarket pasta. This one tasted as something my grandma would make. Read the rest of this entry

Disc Golf Adventures

There are many ways people decide to get their exercise and some are more creative than others. We get so busy with our daily lives at work and at school and forget to get our exercise. Staying active doesn’t have to be a chore. We generally think of exercise as an annoyance but we are here to tell you it’s not like that at all.

If you play different games such as disc golf frequently, you will realize how much walking you actually do but at the same time, it’s an amazing time with your friends also. The amount of walking and hiking you do while you play is at least a couple miles for each course. If you end up playing a couple times a week then you have knocked out a few miles in a week and that’s definitely well on your way to staying in shape if you keep it up. Read the rest of this entry

Simple, fresh and delicious Spring Rolls!

We all know that fast foods are bad for your health, but what if there was a food that was fast to prepare and healthy? Well, guess what!  There is!

Spring Rolls are knows as an appetizer in Asian culture, they can either be fried or steamed; it all depends of the culture and taste. You can prepare these to be complete vegetarian or add your favorite meat and noodles.
